ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Consulting & Delivery community — helping clients plan, manage and deliver programmes that make a real impact.
You’ll play a key role in supporting and shaping project delivery across Defence and government, applying structure, clarity and focus to ensure every project meets its objectives.
This role sits within our Portfolio and Programme Management (PPM) specialism, which combines deep knowledge of project methodologies with an understanding of how technology enables effective delivery. It’s a varied and fast-moving environment, with opportunities to work across a range of sectors and programmes.
About the team
Our PPM team brings together specialists in programme management, transformation and delivery assurance. Some are highly technical; others focus on methodologies and governance — together they help our clients run projects better, smarter and more effectively.
You’ll be joining a supportive, multidisciplinary team that values curiosity, collaboration and practical problem-solving.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading and shaping project delivery through robust planning, monitoring, control and performance reporting
- Defining programmes and projects to ensure clear alignment with client business needs and objectives
- Identifying and managing project risks, remedial actions and dependencies to ensure delivery success
- Establishing and championing programme/project delivery strategies, appropriate governance, and best-practice processes
- Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and management system requirements
- Acting as the main point of client engagement, building strong stakeholder relationships and securing future work potential
- Preparing high-quality project materials, reports and presentations on progress, issues and outcomes
- Leading internal project-management excellence: mentoring junior staff, setting standards and fostering a growth mindset across the team
What you’ll bring

Strong working knowledge of the Defence industry (or equivalent large-scale government/multi-stakeholder environments)

Proven track record of successful senior project delivery, across multiple stakeholders and complex landscapes

Hold (or working towards) recognised project-management qualifications such as:

APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or PMI Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) / PMP

Agile Project Management qualification

Ideally a Member of the Association for Project Management (MAPM)

Excellent stakeholder-engagement, communication, analytical and leadership skills

A collaborative mindset, strong delivery focus and genuine drive to mentor others and shape team capability
