ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our Consulting & Delivery community — helping clients plan, manage and deliver programmes that make a real impact.
You’ll play a key role in supporting and shaping project delivery across Defence and government, applying structure, clarity and focus to ensure every project meets its objectives.
This role sits within our Portfolio and Programme Management (PPM) specialism, which combines deep knowledge of project methodologies with an understanding of how technology enables effective delivery. It’s a varied and fast-moving environment, with opportunities to work across a range of sectors and programmes.
About the team
Our PPM team brings together specialists in programme management, transformation and delivery assurance. Some are highly technical; others focus on methodologies and governance — together they help our clients run projects better, smarter and more effectively.
You’ll be joining a supportive, multidisciplinary team that values curiosity, collaboration and practical problem-solving.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting and shaping project delivery through effective planning, monitoring, control and performance reporting
- Identifying risks and recommending remedial actions to maintain momentum and manage dependencies
- Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and management processes
- Defining programmes and projects to ensure alignment with client business needs
- Leading and championing the use of appropriate project and programme delivery strategies
- Conducting background research, data collection and benchmarking to inform decision-making
- Establishing effective processes and systems to be used throughout a project lifecycle
- Building positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintaining strong client relationships to increase future work potential
- Preparing project materials, reports and progress updates
- Promoting a growth mindset and collaborative culture within the internal team
What you’ll bring

Working knowledge of the Defence industry

Practical experience of P3M (Project, Programme and Portfolio Management) practices

Proven track record of successful project delivery

Ideally, recognised qualifications such as:

PRINCE2 Practitioner

APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or PMI Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)

Agile Project Management certification

Ideally a Member of the Association for Project Management (MAPM)

Strong communication, analytical and organisational skills
-
A collaborative mindset and the ability to build trust with colleagues and customers
