ABOUT TECHMODAL

At Techmodal, we help Defence, Government and the public sector see beyond complexity — using data, technology and human insight to make better decisions, faster.

We’re a creative and collaborative team of consultants, analysts and developers, working on some of the UK’s most critical challenges — from the back office to the front line.

Part of BAE Systems Digital Intelligence, we bring the stability and reach of a global organisation with the spirit and agility of a specialist consultancy. You’ll experience the best of both worlds: the scale, benefits and development opportunities of BAE Systems, and the close-knit, collaborative culture of Techmodal.

About the team

You’ll join a multidisciplinary team of data engineers, analysts, architects and consultants who design and deliver data platforms across highly secure Defence and Government environments. The team works across AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI and Palantir Foundry, combining strong engineering fundamentals with real operational context.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines for ingesting, transforming and modelling structured and unstructured data.
  • Work across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP) and Palantir Foundry environments to deliver robust, secure solutions.
  • Support data modelling and warehousing activities using best practice in schema design and data governance.
  • Contribute to ETL/ELT development, testing and automation using Python, SQL, Airflow and Azure Data Factory.
  • Collaborate with analysts, scientists and architects to ensure solutions meet real business needs.
  • Participate in Agile delivery teams, including sprint planning, code reviews and show-and-tells.
  • Apply DevOps and CI/CD principles to improve deployment and reliability.
  • Document work clearly and share knowledge across the team.

  • Hands-on experience (or strong interest) in AWS, Azure or GCP.
Interest in working with Palantir Foundry or similar enterprise data platforms.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working in Agile, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Eligible for UK Security Clearance (5+ years UK residency).
