A day in the life of a data scientist

For Anush, being a data scientist is all about variety, creativity, and collaboration.

“My daily work involves a mix of technical problem-solving, AI/ML model development, team collaboration and stakeholder management.”

Her background in mathematics and computer science provides a strong foundation, but she says it’s the pace and purpose of the work that keeps things exciting.

“The problems we’re working on are diverse and challenging. I find my skills are utilised well, and there’s always space for development and learning.”

While working with public sector clients sometimes comes with challenges—like data access or slower adoption of AI—Anush finds the work incredibly fulfilling.

“The digital transformation happening in the sector means the work we do has a direct impact on society, government, and public services. That feels rewarding.”
