We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join the Engineering and Digital Services business stream within BAE Systems, as part of the Digital Services Commercial Team. The Commercial Manager will work as part of the Digital Services Commercial Team to provide commercial service and support, supporting the operational needs of Techmodal and the wider Digital Services Department.
Reporting to a Senior Commercial Manager, this is a unique and exciting role which will allow the successful candidate to support a strong growth agenda, including both UK and export opportunities. In 2020, Techmodal were acquired by BAE Systems – these are really exciting times for us and it’s a great time to join the team.
Overview of role
The role requires a good and broad professional knowledge of Commercial Principles, Techniques and Practices, ideally within a digital environment. The successful candidate will need to be flexible, creative and bring innovative commercial ideas to help to grow the business. A proven track record of review, negotiation and amendment of standard government framework agreements; drafting and negotiation of collaboration and teaming agreements; understanding of contract law and intellectual property, inclusive of licensing software products is critical.
This area of the business is fast paced and the candidate will need to demonstrate clear prioritisation and organisation skills. The ability to manage multiple internal stakeholder, to achieve approvals to execute agreements in a timely manner to support our growth agenda is key.
The Commercial Manager, as a member of the Commercial team and community within Digital Services, will manage the effective deployment of corporate Commercial processes in line with local or business requirements and within personal delegated authority. The Commercial Manager will contribute to the delivery of the functional IBP. Although the Commercial Manager will not have direct reports, they will be expected to provide support to the wider Digital Services Commercial Team during busy periods and during he absence of the Senior Commercial Manager.
Only candidates who have live Security Clearance (or 5+ years’ UK residency in order to gain it) and relevant Learning and Development experience will be considered for the role and invited to interview.
Remote working during Covid-19
